Terrible Two’s

So for the most part having a toddler is just a bucket of fun. They are super excited about everything… A look at the lawn mower outside and she will squeal for joy. Oh A lets read a book and she goes running to the books. The most un-fun thing about having a toddler is going into public.

Sure you might do everything right they slept great you even made sure to let them have their favorite breakfast to put them in a good mood. Yay for the day…

This my friends is where it goes all wrong, you never know when that bottle of energy is going to explode and you will have Mt. Vesuvius on your hands out of the confine of your safe sound proof walls. I think kids inherently know that getting mom mad in public stresses out mom and stressed out mom yields to desires much easier.

As if being a mom weren’t hard enough, when I finally do feel brave enough to run some errands with both kids my nerves are on fire. I am worried something will set them off and I try to get everything done as quickly as possible.

Which brings me to the tantrum. You know the one that makes you embarrassed in front of the other mom’s and want to take them home instantly; but the idea of being at home with your frustrated toddler sounds as much as a prison to you as it feels to them.

Well that my friends is called the Terrible Two’s and one lovely reprieve we have from it is that if anyone asks what's wrong you can simply say oh she/he is two and its like instant understanding. Now I am not saying you wont get your fair share of stress or rude people but at least some people are kind and understanding and just proud of you for getting more than yourself ready and actually walking out of your hobbit home.

Which now brings me to rude people. Awhile back I decided to take A and E to the grocery store they were both so happy and doing so well. Now since A has diabetes, she doesn't get treats for being good but gets a ride on the horsey thing. Anyway as we were heading to check out she was singing quietly all smiles whilst E slept in his Car seat. Cade and I passed a couple possibly in their early 20’s. As they passed us the girl turned to her boyfriend and said… “Never have children”

What the heck lady, my kids were being rock stars, so what's wrong with you. To this day I wish I would have been brave enough to say, “Yeah I wish your parents wouldn't have had children as well” ok maybe that's a little harsh… but thanks for ruining a really good outing for me.

Playing With Grammy

So I didnt write for several days because we were lucky enough to have my mother-in-law visit us. My brother in law had a competition for car stuff (yes my profound knowledge of cars astounds you all) in Detroit, so my mom tagged along and we were lucky enough to hang out with her.  A was so excited and even E has been in recovery mode since she left.

Being a mom is an awesome job but having visitors make it so much easier especially when it makes your kids so excited. A always bugged Grammy for help and Grammy was more then happy to oblige to the baby holding, child feeding, child playing and over all crazyness that is a two year old. As proof I have some fun photos from the week.

E is so lucky with Grammy here he got to try two new foods, Pizza crust and Grammy’s popsicle.  Grammy is a good sharer which is good since E’s slober made sharing with him impossible.

Grammy cut A’s hair so A wated to pretend and play with the water bottle as well.   photo 5 (5)

Lucky for me with Grammy here I was actually in a picture. our cute little family and A our little cheeser, have to admit that cheese is stinkin cute. Thank for coming Grammy come back soon.

Partyin’ with the Homies

Well some of our friends just celebrated their birthdays. As in their birthdays are a day apart. So in honor of that thy had a little party that included of all things a slackline

Now for all you gymnasts and athletically inclined… Well good for you.

But to be completely honest I am sure I looked like a Weeble attempting to stand on that line. You know the “Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down.” Yeah pretty sure that was me except the don’t fall down part. I may have made it 1/4 of the way down the rope. 1/2 way if you count C helping me walk down the rope; which I was informed they didn’t. Here are some pics… oh and apparently being helped counts for two year olds. So A made it farther then I did.

If you cant tell A is trying to climb the tree to get onto the slack-line. I also caught C mid jump/fall.There is my skill in photo’s on  a phone.

We got to sig them birthday and eat some delicious cake and cupcakes but seeing as no one in the vicinity had a match we used this bad boy.

Yes my friends that is a blow torch. P.S if you really enjoy creme brulee or just torches way cheaper at Home Depot or your local building store than a culinary store. Woot For Bargaining and Birthdays.

Meet The Cannon’s

For a long time I told Cade I wanted to start a blog and he thought it was silly. But then after A was diagnosed he thought it was a good idea and since I was pregnant the idea of trying to write something every day seemed daunting (so glad I graduated college prior to pregnancies!).

So now nearly 9 months later I am starting a blog. This is going to be an outlet for venting and explaining all the issues that come along with having a Type 1 Diabetic toddler. As well it is supposed to be a fun read. Not to serious just my family in all of its complete glory.

This is my family in January 10 days after welcoming our son into our family (I think). That my friends is my handsome husband. I know you were all thinking it. And lastly our gorgeous daughter A. She is a spunky two year old with type 1 diabetes.

Now if you have ever experienced Terrible Two’s let me tell you that Diabetes puts a whole new spin on the idea of toddlerhood and tantrums. Luckily for me she is my first which means Diabetes is our new normal.

Here are my two awesome Kids. A sure makes E look like a little pip-squeek.

However this is E today,
